Tavli, a game of east Mediterranean, was spread from the Hellenistic period and after. From the one part of the earth to the other, from America to Japan, there are people who play tavli. The dominant way οf playing is the Anglo-Saxon way, known as backgammon. But, in many countries, they play tavli with their own way and have given to it their local names, during the years of spread and evolution of the game.
